back to work [General] — boro @ 12:35 pm

Well today I am back to work. It has been an interesting couple of weeks of my not-so-restful-vacation vacation. The Lord has blessed me with many things to do here at the office, and I am working on them with a light heart, knowing that my boys are home and are enjoying being home with mommy.

BTW, I will be posting more pictures soon. I probably took over 75 photos between the 18th and yesterday, so I will try to sort through those and get them up. It won’t be tonight, because of AWANA, but hopefully it will be soon.

I held Caleb [General] — boro @ 3:31 pm

Yesterday Beth got to hold and feed Caleb, and today I got to!

Yesterday we also found out that Caleb has pneumonia, but that the 10-day run of anti-biotics that he is on will fix it.

I added more pictures from yesterday and today, and also changed the order of the photos so that the newest ones will show first.

Progress [General] — boro @ 3:48 pm

Caleb has made some extraordinary progress over the last couple of days. He is now off of the CPAP that he had been on since Sunday, and we can now hold him. Beth got to hold him for only the second time yesterday, and she got to again today as well. In fact, I even got to hold him while he ate his first bottle of 10cc of Beth’s milk. Hopefully tomorrow he will be able to nurse.

thought provoking post [General] — boro @ 10:36 pm

Tonight I was reading this post on a friend’s blog Chilling Words, and his post brought up a very thought provoking issue, personal intrusions. Please read his post before you read below, because it will make much more sense.

I posted the following comment on his site, and I post it here, not because I am “The Ultimate Giver of Truth”, but because he provoked my thoughts quite a bit, and I think it might provoke yours as well.

Since I read your post, I have been really mulling this over in my mind, and this is what I have come up with.

I think this entire issue is one of heart condition. If the Holy Spirit is leading you to ask someone even a prying (or not so) personal question, you had better ask it. However, if the Holy Spirit is not causing the motivation, but you are doing it out of simple curiosity or even pride, then beware. I think this applies to people whom we know well and are closely accountable to, or even a brother in Christ whom you have never met before.

When a prying (or not so) personal question gets asked of you, your response is also going to be determined by your heart condition. You can’t know the heart condition of the person asking, so you must rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you in your answer. Perhaps you are struggling in that area and you need to confess it, or perhaps you aren’t struggling and need to encourage the other person. I don’t think there is a single proper response for every situation, but if you are seeking the Lord’s will in the situation, He will provide you with the wisdom to answer it properly. I know that such questions often put us on the defensive, but we really need to give our pride over to the Lord, and seek His will.

There you go. If you have any thoughts on the subject, please post them on his site, or if you wish, mine.

new doc up [General] — boro @ 8:07 pm

Socket is a good friend of mine from college, and he was gracious enough to detail all of the modifications that he has recently done to his computer case. I think he did an awesome job. Give it a look: Socket’s Case Mod.

Note: Although it’s category on the right is “Docs by me”, this doc is all his. I really should change the title of that nav section, but right now I have other things to attend to. Perhaps some day it will get changed.

Also, if you have written something, and it could be almost anything, and you are looking for a place to post it where people will read it, contact me and we can discuss it.

More snow [General] — boro @ 8:31 pm

Wow! The parade of snowflakes has continued. Today we got another 6 inches of snow on the ground. After the thawing and shrinking of the snowfall from Monday, we have 9 inches on the ground in my yard. Quite kwl! Also, is seems like there is supposed to be another couple of inches tonight, and the forecasts show that there is a high probability of snowfall of and on through Tuesday. The last time I have seen any snowfall like this in Oregon was the winter of ‘98-’99. I suppose I had better enjoy it, because I won’t be seeing this much snow at my house, for probably another 5 years. So I will do just that, enjoy it!
