the joys of server rebuilding
Ahh the joys of server rebuilding!
My server happened to be down for a couple of days due to some HD corruption. I don’t know if the HD going wonky caused the data corruption, or if reiserfs just decided to throw itself into knots. Either way, the server was down, and I had to do some steps to get everything back up.
Praise the Lord for reiserfsck, it really saved the day. After rebuilding my filesystem tree with reiserfsck –rebuild-tree, all is now well again. To triple check things, I ghosted my old drive to a new one and I believe that should have solved any problems I was having. There were a few files lost and packages that had to be re-installed, but as for now, all is well!
My apologies to Bill and Eugene. Hopefully this downtime didn’t put too big of a kink in their plans.
