For those of you who use my ssl protected pages, I have generated a new certificate for those pages. Instead of needing to autorize/install each certificate for each different service that I offer, you can now install my CA certificate in your browser/OS and any future certificate will be signed by that CA cert. The certificate is available for download here. It is also available in pem format here.
There is an interesting series of articles that I have been reading on espn.com. Jim Caple, one of the senior writers for espn.com and he has been taking a “tour” (and I use that word loosely) of college campuses of teams that are still alive in the tourney. He is staying on a few campuses and getting quite the experience. I can’t say that I approve of some of the activities he is participating in, but his writing style is a blast and his antics are quite humorous!

I was a little disappointed last night. I have always been a big Washington fan so I was excited to see the men’s basketball team make it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tourney. Last night their run was ended by Louisville and that bummed me out a little bit. It seems like few people in the major media (ESPN, FOXSports, etc) give PAC10 teams the respect they are due. Anyway, that is just rhetoric as it really doesn’t bother me too much. I was jazzed to see the Huskies get a #1 ranking even though I was very surprised and I am proud of how far they advanced. Should Nate Robinson stick around for his senior season, I think the dawgs should have another outstanding season in front of them.
Well, my time while waiting for the New Edge tech support came to a grand total of 100+ minutes. That does not count the < 15 minutes that I actually talked to a tech. I do want to give the New Edge tech’s credit for being very curteous and helpful. Both times they were able to answer my questions with ease and with minimal hassle. However, I do fault their company for having such a bad ratio of techs to calls that each call averaged 50 minutes of wait time. That is unacceptable from any company.
So far today I have spent over 75 minutes waiting for New Edge’s tech support. The first call took 45 minutes before I talked to someone, and the current call has already taken 30 minutes, so the 75 minutes of listening to their classical music has already been passed. I would say this wait time is rather extreme. I am trying to get a small /29 subnet for my client so that I can keep their vpn working. Were I to call Qwest this would have been a very quick call, in fact, I could have even done this online. I can’t say that I am giving New Edge very high marks about now. Here’s hoping that I can get my problem fixed without being transfered to someone else.
Well, since WordPress 1.5 has been out for awhile, I went ahead and switched my blog over to the new version. The simple upgrade isn’t quite so simple because of how I reuse the blog’s backend code on other parts of my site, but it is now complete. With the new version comes the home of better comment protection. Enjoy!
Thanks to some hard work by Pat, Von, and myself, we now have a Sermon Archives page on the Salem Heights website. Right now there is only this weeks sermon, but in the future we hope to go back a few months to get older sermons on there as well. Check it out!
Well, I have once again disabled comments. Hopefully this weekend I will get everything where it supposed to be so that I can turn them on again.
Thanks for your patience (those who are out there).
This Friday and Saturday will be a busy time for our family. The Salem Heights Awana club is having it’s anual Grand Prix. (If you are wondering, a Grand Prix is essentially a pine wood derby, just a different name.) On Friday I will be taking off of work early to get the track setup and get ready for the car weigh-in later that evening. After we get all 55 of the cars ready to go with their last minute weight adjustments, we will get ready for the race in the morning. Lord willing things will go smoothly and we will have no frustrated parents. I am excited and nervous because I will be giving what I deem as a “Straight-up” Gospel presentation. This should be a great event, and I am excited for what the Lord is going to do.
