I was very surprised when I drove through Keizer this morning. The cheapest place in town in the Texaco station in central Keizer near the Arby’s. They had regular for $2.17. I am considering making this a regular posting of the prices of the 5-6 gas stations I drive past. We’ll see what happens. Anyway, here are this mornings prices for Keizer.

Well, I saw the Intel Centrino commercial again last night and it renewed my desire to find it online. After a little bit of smarter searching I found the link to Intel’s “Entertainment in Your Lap” promotion. Click here to a direct link to the video.
As I continued to think about the item I posted about yesterday, the battle for truth - creation, I got more and more fired up. So much so that although I changed my lesson for tonight’s AWANA club. I want to really make sure that the kids really understand why creation is important and that it is impossible for evolution and the God of the Bible to be “perfectly compatible”. Even now as I think about this topic it makes my blood simmer. (grrrr)
I just saw an amazing thing this morning… my buddy Eugene finally did a blog update. It has been a couple of months since he switched to wordpress and I guess he now has something worth saying. Check his blog out!

– Referee Ed Hochuli covered up his arms with long sleeves during Sunday’s Steelers-Packers game not because the temperature dipped into the low 40s but because Wisconsin law prohibits pythons from being loose in public.
LOL funny!
I noticed an article a few days ago about a high ranking Vatican officials statement that the Genesis creation record and evolution are “perfectly compatible”. I also read a bunch of the modded up comments about this article on Slashdot. The battle for truth in the area of how we all came to be is a fiercely raging war.
First of all I believe the gospel:
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, (4) and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
Now I believe the Bible is as it claims: inspired by God (II Timothy 3:16-17). If it claims to be inspired by God then it must be without error. It is a very slippery slope for a ‘Christian’ who chooses to not believe in the literal interpretation of scripture, because if you don’t interpret the creation account literally, then how can you interpret the rest of scripture literally. And if scripture isn’t literal, then did Jesus really die? If He did was He really God? Is there really even a God after all?
When we choose to believe something that is just one fraction of a degree different than what the Bible teaches, we will quickly find ourselves far away from the truth. I have pity on the Christian who does such a thing, because they are setting themselves up for great sorry when they someday stand before Jesus. I know that I have already done many things that I will be ashamed of, and I fear my brother or sister in Christ who will feel more so because of their belief in the subtle twisting of scripture by our enemies, and the things that such theology will ‘allow’ them to do.
This is quite a battle and the stakes are very high!

Yeah, that is actually a gas price in Salem, Oregon!
If you want that price, check out the AM/PM station just south of downtown on Commercial St.
I got a call from my wife this morning. She was out doing grocery shopping and since the boys were being so good she decided to buy them each a burger at McDs. The usual purchase is a double cheeseburger for each of them. As she looked at the readout she noticed that the price is no longer $.99, but $1.20. She was shocked and a little annoyed, and I can’t blame her.
Now, nobody that I know would say that $.21 is alot of money, but a 20% increase is certainly alot. The same thing happened with Carl’s Jr’s Famous Star about a year ago, and I don’t think I have eaten there more than once a month since then. Although I am sure that McDs has solid justification for the price increase, it just doesn’t sit well with me. Now instead of only using one dollar to purchase a burger, it now takes two. Yes, that’s right, two. Very rarely do I carry any change, so the extra amount just goes into my change cup for a later day. Sure there are some other options, debit card, a man purse, or some other sort of change carrying device, but as it is, I am not too happy about this price increase, and it will certainly make me think twice about going to McDs.
