Very soon the modification of last year’s school zone speed limit law will take affect (effect?). Now instead of being limited to 20mph in school zones (where the base speed was 30mph or less) all the time, you will now only be reduced between 7am - 5pm M-F. Many people thought it quite ridiculous that you had to slow down at midnight, as there would certainly be many children on school property at that hour. It seems that our lawmakers have listened to reason (or whining) and changed it to more reasonable hours.
I have also heard that people are trying to get any fines repealed since the law was changed. However, I think it reasonable that since they broke the law, no matter that it was rather silly, they should still have to pay the penalty. Thoughts?
